Marie posted this sweet scripture lullaby a few days ago. I listened to it Tuesday afternoon and loved it. Tuesday night the worst part of our winter storm blew through and left me without electricity. I was, I'll admit a bit scared and took my dog to sleep in my bed for the first time since we've had him. I found myself waking often that night in a bit of a panic at all the different noises. At one point I got up just to double check if all my doors were locked and my house was still in one piece. As I made my way back to bed I prayed the words of this song, of Ps. 46:10- Be still and know that I am God, and of Ps. 4:8 - I will both lie down in peace and sleep; For YOU alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. It is so awesome that God's word does not return void. That the verse we need always finds its way from our heart to our mind at the proper time.

I also received a LOVE gram from these two Sugars the next day! Thanks Marie. : )

I'm Back!!

We'll, I was only away 3 months this winter instead of 4 so I guess that's progress. So why so long? We'll I've been a single lady for the last three months (not really single, just home alone). My love has been in Texas, which leaves me a little busier than normal, and spending a lot of time talking on the phone to him or Skype! He will be returning just in time for Valentine's Day. I am so excited to be off work that day and able to create a special and relaxing day for my Love.

Well since I left off. I was able to spend time with my Mom she was here for a month and a half. It was nice to have her company. She really enjoyed being here and attending my church with me. She helped out with a lot of the Christmas giving the church did. Thanks Mom!

I also got to hang out with Marie. We went to see former President George W. Bush on Veteran's day. We went shopping together for something... can't remember what. We had tea several times, made christmas ornaments, and I got to help her out by caring for little Zane while she was in labor with Ezra. It was so much fun. He is such a joyful little guy, I love him so much, and his little brother Ezra too!

For Thanksgiving I went to Texas to be with my Love. He came home for Christmas and after a little "adjusting" :) we had great Christmas together. He got me new dishes; out with the bachelor dishes! sewing tools, and new perfume. I gave him some money to go towards an IPOD he's saving up to buy.

In early January I went down to Texas with him again and left him there until he comes on Valentine's Day. After that he'll be staying for a while until he heads off for Chaplain Officer training for the summer.

On MLK Jr. Day my oldest sister and her family came down and we went to the AF Museum together, ate Pizza and also ice cream. We had a very nice time and my 4 year old nephew said it was "really awesome"! Too cute.

I also tried out Pam's(Where Your Treasure Is) potato soup recipe.

It was so delicious! I left out the ham and fixed my toppings like a loaded baked potato.

Creamy Potato Soup

Ingredients

8 large potatoes, peeled and chopped

1 large onion peeled and diced

2 cups diced turkey ham or ham

3-4 cups chicken broth or potato water or both

1 4 oz stick of butter

1/2 cup of flour

2 cups cream, half and half, or milk ( I usually use mostly milk with a little cream)

1 1/2 Teaspoons Salt

2 or 3 Green Onions Chopped

Croutons (homemade are easy and taste the best)

Instructions

Place potatoes in a pot of water and boil until tender. Drain desired amount of water and add broth to potatoes. Add chopped ham and onion. In a skillet, melt butter, stir in flour and then add milk to make a roux. Gradually add the rest of the milk over medium heat until you have a thickened sauce. Slowly pour into potatoe soup. Simmer gently for a few minutes. Spoon into bowls and top with croutons and chives. If you like a thicker soup, increase your flour in your roux, if you like a thinner soup, increase your broth. Mmm Mmm good.

Note: you can add cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and sour cream to this recipe and it would be delicious.

Beautiful Sunday

I've had a wonderful Sunday. My mom is here visiting with me and I am soo happy she is here keeping me company. Yesterday we went shopping with my sisters:

We sisters got kind-of matching hats for $3.00 (my dog tore mine up already. Boohoo.)

Then we ate a late lunch together:

Then we did some more shopping. I got two new dresses! One of the dresses was just $10!

So, of course I wore one of my dresses to church this morning.

After we returned home I made my mom some lunch:

Ingredients

1 pkg. Hillshire Farm^®Cheddarwurst^® Smoked Sausage
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 tart apples, peeled, cored and cut into ½” wedges
1 Vidalia or other sweet onion, sliced
2 green bell peppers, seeded and cut into ½” strips
2 red bell peppers, seeded and cut into ½” strips
½ teaspoon coarsely cracked black pepper
Hot cooked rice
Directions:
1. Cut sausage on an angle into ½” slices. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat for 3 minutes. Cook sausage 1-2 minutes per side or until lightly browned; remove from skillet.
2. Melt butter in skillet. Add apples, onion, green and red peppers. Cook, stirring occasionally until peppers are soft, about 10 minutes.
3. Return sausage to pan and heat through. Top with cracked black pepper. Serve over hot cooked rice.

Took Patriot to the Dog Park and then my Mom and I got some ice cream from Coldstone! Yum.

Quilt Festival

Recently while looking up some quilting tutorials I found a blog with some very helpful instruction. On that blog I saw that she joined in the Blogger's Quilt Festival (link). After looking at the quilts of all different skill levels, and reading some of the stories of why they made their quilt I have decided to enter my little lap quilt in the festival.

The story of my quilt is this. My Loving Father recently passed away in Dec of 09. During his last few months with us Hospice helped care for him in my Mother's home. I am very thankful and appreciative of that so my husband and I decided to become volunteers with Hospice. However, I work full time in the Military and attend school full time. I do not have time to go on visits and do not think I am strong enough for that yet either. So I decided to do crafts. I was working on a crochet blanket for my Dad that I did not get finished before he passed so I picked it up again to complete for Hospice, but I don't like crocheting. I am too antsy and do not like the fact of having to chain one long row turn around and do it again. Ugh. So, I switched to lap quilts.

I just finished my first lap quilt and was able to turn it in a couple of weeks ago. It was my first since the 7th grade( I'm 27 now). I went pretty much off memory, and it shows. Folks, our memories are great, but sometimes they're not as great as we thought! I have now found a few tutorials to help me for my next lap quilt that I will start after I finish that crazy crochet and get it out of my house. The things I would like to improve on are symmetry and binding.

Beef and Broccoli with rice

Tonight's dinner:

Beef and Broccoli with white rice

This is a good recipe. The only thing I would do differently is 1) add black pepper, which I did and 2) put the beef in very last and stir it up right before putting it on the plate. My beef was over cooked, but I'm sure it's just chef error not recipe error. I also added more water because the ginger was a little too strong for me. I would use less and sprinkle it in to taste.

I also said I had 5 dinners left to make, but I can't count. The beef stew was #6 and this is #7 so I only have 3 left and I have 2 planned out and one to figure out, and I'll never cook again. Lol! JK.

3 tablespoons cornstarch, divided
1/2 cup water, plus
2 tablespoons water, divided
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 lb boneless round steak or 1 lb charcoal chuck steak, cut into thin 3-inch strips
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
4 cups broccoli florets
1 small onion, cut into wedges
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
hot cooked rice

Change Measurements: US | Metric

Directions:

1In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water and garlic powder until smooth.
2Add beef and toss.
3In a large skillet or wok over medium high heat, stir-fry beef in 1 tablespoon oil until beef reaches desired doneness; remove and keep warm.
4Stir-fry broccoli and onion in remaining oil for 4-5 minutes.
5Return beef to pan.
6Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and remaining cornstarch and water until smooth; add to the pan.
7Cook and stir for 2 minutes.

Apron Swap

Apron Swap

Well, it is finished! I completed Living From Glory to Glory's apron yesterday. I just love it. I almost wish I could keep it. I hope she can feel all of the love I sewed into it and likes the apron pattern and fabric pattern as well. I should be able to get it in the mail on Monday. My "mail man" was supposed to do that for me, but he flew the coop for a little while and went to Texas. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

I also received the apron she made and I love it. It is very sturdy. I will definitely be using it a lot. The aprons I have here are very thin, except the one I bought in Italy, but I don't like using it because I want to keep it nice. It has my name embroidered on it. I got to watch the lady sewing it on. I guess I'll have to post a picture of it.

However, for now I'll post of the apron I received and of last night's dinner. Beef Stew. I told BJ I'm working on my cooking, starting with soup. He said, "Praise the Lord!" and that he is very thankful for the blogging world that encourages me to do so.

Striving to Serve at home put out a ten week meal challenge I didn't sign up, because I'm not that consistent, but wanted to expand my cooking skills for my loving husband, so this is the fifth meal I've posted so I have five more. He liked the stew, he just had one suggestion and it was the same as the suggestion for the chicken Alfredo soup: "More meat". LOL! I guess since he is eating all those veggies a little more meat won't hurt.

New Recipe

We'll I did it! I made the Chicken Vegetable Alfredo Soup.

I was looking through some Pampered Chef soup recipe cards that I had in my cook book drawer

found the card for this soup. I thought, "Mmmm this sounds good, looks good, and seems easy to make".

So I made it, and it was very good (I almost didn't believe it was me who made it).

I put extra chicken and a little extra broth. I also used maybe 1/2 - 1 tsp. of dry basil seasoning instead of the fresh.

I boiled my own chicken so I had plenty of broth, then I just scooped out about 2 1/2 cup of broth and added one boullion cube.

Here are some pics of my cooking success! Another meal added to my list. Yesss! I can do this wife thing after all. Lol!

Ps. I didn't make my bread bowl as suggested by the recipe. I bought it.

However, BJ and I agree that it would have been great in a regular bowl too.

Those are mashed potatoes on the side.

Apron Swap

Aprons, Sewing, and Cooking

I've been working on sewing together an apron I made for the apron swap. I used a hand me down apron I have here that I like using, as the pattern. However, I like the one I'm making more, but I won't show you it until I know Living from Glory to Glory has received her apron. I'll only tell you it's green, purple, white, and pink...

I also finished up the little quilt I was working on for Hospice and turned it in on Thursday. I do hope my next one is better and found a great blog with lots of tutorials. (Luckily you can't see all the imperfections in the picture) Some you have to pay for, but some are free and some are also offered for free on you tube. I will show you the apron I chose for the pattern and a few things I've cooked up so far this fall. I'll also post a picture of the dish I'll be attempting to cook up on Tuesday. Tomorrow my love will be going to BWW to watch the World Series - Texans, and I'll be sewing with Marie!

Mini beef sausages with potatoes, green pepper, yellow squash, tomatoes, and onions. Topped with cheddar cheese and served with scrambled eggs. Yummm! And my husband liked it too!

Beef and Pasta shells served with ranch beans. We just pour them in on top of the other stuff and eat with corn tortillas or tortilla chips. BJ is much better at this dish. He showed me how to make it.

Well, I couldn't find a picture of the dish I'll be making on Tuesday so I'll have to take a picture of the recipe card and a picture of my completed dish. I'll be making the Pamered Chef recipe for chicken and veggie alfredo soup. It is served in a bread bowl. I have all the ingredients and am very excited to try it out. It's a very simple recipe... I think(hope)!

Hawaii(Again)

~HAWAII~

I promised a repost of my Hawaii trip and I am finally getting around to it. It has been a busy few weeks. A few things I have been up to are work(of course). January will mark four years of my being in the Air Force. I have very much enjoyed my time this far am so blessed to have been serving during this time of economic struggle. Through the AF God has supplied my every need and we have felt very few economic hick-ups in my household where I serve as the main bread winner while my husband is a full time student working on his Masters Degree in Divinity and volunteers with the local Hospice during some of his free time. I have been growing a little weary with this day to day routine ( having had a change of scenery every year or two for the past 8 years or so after graduating high school). Now I have somewhat settled down, am married and managed to find my way back to Ohio. We have bought a home and expect to be here for at least another 3 years. The closer I get to my 4 year mark the more excited I get to know that in just a couple short years my hubby and I plan to switch places and he will get to work while I work on my Master's degree and we will start trying to have children. I just have 10 classes left for my bachelors degree, not too far off when every semester I knock out four classes. I was sick this week and the doctor told me to stay home for a few days. It was a lovely two days of homework and sewing. It was such a LOVELY two days! Please pray that I will not grow weary in doing good, but will continue serving our country with excellence and joy every day.

Well back to the subject. Marie and Jon(http://idreamtidweltinmarblehalls.blogspot.com/) showed me how to re arrange my blog and enlarge my pictures so I am doing a repost after receiving a few requests. Everyone should now be able to see the pictures.

Hawaii!!

Well friends I was over on the blog living from glory to glory reading about the "Great Apron Swap" when I couldn't help, but notice her lovely music. In the background was playing the Island version of "Over the Rainbow" which I love by the way. However, it got me to thinking that I have not posted about my lovely vacation.

So, now seems like a great time... other than the fact that I should be doing my homework : )

We had a great time. We took Military flights most of the way there and back, which is very adventurous if I do say so my self. You never quite know when your coming or going and sometime even where it is you'll end up, but the price can't be beat! FREE!

We stayed two nights at the Military Resort the Hale Koa and the rest of our night with my cousins family. We were able to see him only one night, the night we arrived and he went back down on the submarine the next day.

Master Bedroom

Redecorating project: Master Bedroom

The old wall color. Dark grey with darker

gray baseboards. So dreary.

The new tan with the old grey.

I haven't painted the half bath in our bedroom yet,

so it is still the dark grey, but the bathroom has a bonus

concrete type of pho finish.

Our new bedspread. Just needs a decorative pillow. And a decoration behind the bed. I painted the bed frame brown to match the trim, but you can't even see it now with all the bedding!

The wall color is Herb Tea. It's a little brighter than I had expected,

but I like it and can always change it in a year or so when I'm tired of it.

The curtains are reversible. I had them on the brown side with gold leaves at first

But when I put on the new comforter it was a little too dark so I flipped them to the gold side.

We will get new bedroom furniture someday... for now this is what ours looks like.

I changed the trim from dark grey to chocolate brown. I like it very much!

Here you can see very well the contrasting colors. Tan, green, and brown.

This flooring is on of my favorite things in the room. I don't know why

everything is underlined on this caption. Oh well!

I still need to get decorations. I would like to get some pretty sconces with a leafy look, a mirror or hanging jewelry box, a rug, and an ottoman/storage box for the foot of the bed. Oh and a new bedroom set! )

We remember the lives that were lost, the families that were left heart broken and our Military Men and Women who are and have been over seas fighting for our safety every since. We remember the way people filled our churches after these attacks and pray that their hearts will be once again turned toward you, through your Son Jesus by the power of your Holy Spirit.

BLISS!

Well, hello there again. It's been a while and I have a lot to catch you up on

like vacation, school, and my house... but, today I'm only going to tell you

about my Goodwill find. I always see everyone posting all their great thrift store and

garage sale finds, but I never find anything good. Until today!

Today I woke up late piddled on the computer until it was time to go to Julie's Baby shower

then met Marie at her house and we drove over together. We had a great time! I met Julie when she was Marie's neighbor and she threw little Zane's baby shower. Now Julie and I sometimes see each other at the gym and chat about stuff and when we last saw Marie. : ) Julie is having a little boy and it was such a fun shower. There were just a few ladies, mostly Julie's family, but I love small groups over a lot of people.

After the party I dropped Marie off at home and decided to pull into the Goodwill on my way home. I was looking at pictures to go in my country room then turned around and much to my delight I saw this:

Of course I was delighted! I called BJ right away and told him that I was buying it. I have been

wanting a rocker for so long and I found this beautiful rocker for $20.00!

And since I was taking these pictures of the chair I decided to take pictures of the whole room I put it in. Enjoy, and take care!

I also got these two little pieces today for $.99 each

My cousin bought us this expensive comforter set for our wedding, and I love it.

I am doing our bedroom in a different style now, but did not want this lovely set to

to go to waste, so I am doing our spare bedroom in a country theme.

My closet is in the spare room so I don't wake my love in the mornings.

I got this sweet little bear at an auction a little while back, she was in a box

with a few other bears for $4.00. BJ doesn't like her but I think she is

adorable and fits in perfectly in this little country room!

Ps. My sister gave me the lace curtain and some shelving out of her garage sale stuff for free!

Dayton Air Show

Today BJ and I are headed off to the Dayton Air Show. We attended last year and enjoyed it so much, my wonderful husband kept asking and asking if we were going to be able to get tickets to go again. Well, we did and we're headed there today.

Last year was a WWII theme and the AF Thunderbirds were there. This year the Navy's Blue Angels will take the "stage".

My favorite flight last year was of a woman

pilot who flew a WWII plane and did the most daring tricks of the show! She was great!

Summer Time

Hello All!

Summer is here(has been for a little while) and I am loving it! I enjoy being outside in the summer time. I think it is such a shame to cry and complain about bad weather in the winter, then complain just as much when the good weather comes.

Today I went fishing and got a lot of sun. I'm not a lobster, a little pink, but it doesn't hurt at all. It was such a relaxing day. They allowed us to close our office for an outing and picnic. We able to pick which activity we wanted to do in the morning, then all met back up for the picnic at noon. It was sooo nice. I was able to catch two little fish. One blue gill and one baby bass : )

I also got a hair cut today. Another thing I love about summer. I like to cut my hair short in the summer and let it grow out all winter. It was a little past my shoulders before I got it cut. I guess I should have taken a before pic since it looks a lot like my last year's style. However, I still had my last year's blond at the bottom and all brown on top.... so this cut was much needed!

One more thing I love about summer is... the corn and bean fields. Everyday on my drive to and from work I get to drive down a nice country road where the corn and beans line each side of the road (in some parts). The corn has gotten so tall this year. It is so cozy to me. Maybe because that's what I grew up with, but I just have such pleasant memories of riding in the car or on the school bus and seeing the fields full of crop. At home there are a lot of wheat fields too, which I also love. The best part is to roll down the windows while passing the corn fields later in the summer. The smell is so sweet and heavenly. These things comfort me so much.

Home Sweet Home

Hello all!

This is my house. It is a sweet little home. We are have very nice neighbors

who sweet older people. They like telling us about the flowers and plants in our yard. I didn't do a very good job this year of keeping up on them, but it has been fun getting surprised by all the different kinds of flowers and plants that have popped up in our back yard flower beds. I

also wanted to plant a garden this year, but didn't get it planted. We did get all the flower bulbs cleared out so it should be easier to get it planted next year!

I am going to begin decorating next weekend. I am starting with our bedroom and then will move on to the office, and lastly the guest room. I have decorated the bathroom already, but still need a couple more hand towels and a piece of art to go above the toilet.

I have also been working on a quilt for hospice, but am stuck on the binding. I don't remember

how this part is done and need to pic up a book from the library. I've looked on line, but haven't found anything I liked. If you have a good website or know a simple way to do this please let me know. I bought the binding, but when I put it on the seem wasn't in the right place.

Puppy Friends

In mid March Patriot's friend Strydess came to play.

She is such a sweet dog and is much different than Patriot.

Patriot hates to be loved, but Strydess just can't get enough and will

almost sit right on you, just to be close.

These two pups had so much fun. They played all day together then would come

in and crash during the evenings.

They love each other and we say Strydess is Patriot's girlfriend.

You can see them in the pics below. Patriot even gave her a kiss!

When Strydess went home Patriot went with her and got to play at her house for

about a week. They have a lot of fun playing together, and I think Patriot misses

having a playmate. I'll look outside and will see him just laying in the grass. This is

not very common for my very nosey dog.

I found this sweet poem in a book Dearest Marie(Idreamtidweltinmarblehalls) lent to me when BJ and I drove up to be with my Dad after he went into achoma. The words in it are so true and I have been so blessed to be befriended by these sweet sweet ladies. I have had some tough times and a lot of tears over the past few months but Marie and Elizabeth have stuck right in there with me. The lent me puzzles and books to keep me busy, and gave me a sweet doggy book to bring me smile at a time my heart was breaking. They have also let me be an aunt to their precious little babies, which I am sooo thankful for.

I am so blessed God allowed us to be together again for "such a time as this", maybe not the type of time one thinks about when repeating that verse, but it is a time, it had to come, and God is strengthening me each day.

I am also very blessed to have another old friend, my husband. He reminds me over and over of the bigger picture of life and my part in it. I am not sure I would have been able to make it through each night I hadn't been able to snuggle up by his side. He is such a sweet and loving husband. I am so thankful he is in my life. We have been married one year now as of Mar 27 and will be sharing our Big wedding aniversary on June 20th. I'm a lucky girl I get to celebrate being married twice a year!

I am sorry it has been quite too long since my last post, but I was afraid all my posts would be a little sad and sappy. But I'm back and will be posting more about my new house, patriot and Strydess, and some stuff BJ and I did this winter.

Our First Married Christmas

Merry Christmas

Our first Christmas was very lovely. We slept in until 10am and didn't rush into opening our gifts. We just had one a piece because we are going out of town on the 28th. I made a coffee cake and coffee for breakfast, and we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. This is a tradition my mother started with us and my sister Jayna and I are continuing it with our families. God has blessed us so much this year and we are thankful that he kept us close to him, through the happy times and the difficult ones. He is good all the time. He has also blessed us with great friends in a place we thought we would have none, he blessed us with a great church, and a steady job and income. He truly has been so good.

Here are some pics of how I decorated our little apartment for Christmas. Patriot decided he wanted to have a Christmas pic so he sat and waited patiently until i took a shot of him with the dining room.

Marie and Elizabeth gave me this can of delicious loose leaf Ginger Peach Tea.

I have already had two of these little pots and BJ likes it too. My little pot has a loose leaf

filter in which I put a half teaspoon of tea leaves. It gives it the perfect potency.

Advent #3

Well I'm a bit late, but yesterday was the third sunday of Advent. Recently while BJ and I were riding in the car we heard a radio broadcast about Advent. The men were speaking of how Advent, though it is mainly presented as just a Christmas thing is really about the whole life of Christ. His birth, life, death and resurrection. The men encouraged everyone listening to not only practice the normal advent tradition, but to read a chapter of Luke each day up until Christmas Eve as there are 24 chapters in the Gospel of Luke. I was doing well, but have fallen behind I will try to catch up before my next advent post. I like the book of Luke.

This verse has brought me much comfort today. Although, I have a father, and he will be in my heart and memories forever... I found myself thinking of the things I wished my father would be here to see, like: me finish school, my children, my nephews grow and become young men. When I was thinking of these things and growing a bit sad this verse (the father to the fatherless part) popped into my mind. God is our father and was before our earthly fathers, he knows our every moments and wants to share them with us to discuss them with us and share our joy and pain just like our earthly fathers, but better. Better because they are made in HIS image. I am so glad God brought this very simple, but humbling thought to my mind. He said, "Jodi do not loose heart I AM the father of the fatherless". Thank you Lord for your comforting Holy Spirit.

The choir of angels in heaven are enjoying the addition of the beautiful tenor voice of Herbert Mark Jordan, who went to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, December 4, 2009, at his residence following a six year battle with cancer.

On July 12, 1950, Herb was born the son of the late Bart and Audrey (Sheets) Jordan. He was a lifelong resident of Mount Gilead, and graduated in the Mount Gilead High School Class of 1968.

For nearly 20 years, Herb worked as a warehouse manager at the Marion Correctional Facility.A man of deep faith, he attended the Alum Creek Friends Evangelical Church.

Known for his beautiful tenor voice, Herb was honored to have sung with the Gracemen of Grove City, the Sontunes of Mount Gilead, and in his home church.

Truly an avid Ohio State University football fan, he looked forward to every Saturday his beloved team would play.

Herb will be missed by his wife, Sharon Jordan, whom he married on November 5, 1982; and by his adult children, eight grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.

Advent Sunday #1

Advent 2009

Today November 29, 2009 is the first Sunday of Advent this year. Advent is a tradition of candle lighting and scripture reading, starting four Sunday's prior to Christmas and ending on Christmas Eve. Advent starts by lighting one purple candle, then proceeding with an additional candle each sunday. The sunday before Christmas all three purple candles and the pink candle are lit, and on Christmas Eve all the candles are lit. The dictionary definition of the word advent is: 1)The arrival of a notable person, event, or thing. This is a tradition that I grew up with at church and always looked forward to and enjoyed. I always wanted to be the family that was chosen to read the Christmas Scriptures, but we were never chosen.

The church we attend now does not practice Advent so I decided to use my blog to carry on this beloved tradition.

Fun with friends

Yesterday afternoon BJ and I went over to Marie and John's (and Elizabeth) house. We were only planning to stay a little while, but we ended up staying all evening! We had such a fun time, playing Rummy, putting together a vintage puzzle and playing with the baby, and eating left over Turkey paninnis, quesadillas, and pig in a blank(sausage not turkey). We made good progress on the puzzle and I really enjoyed putting it together with everyone. Every time I make a piece fit, I feel like I have won the game. I was unable to find the exact picture on the puzzle, but the one above has the same theme of Fox Hunting.

Let me tell you about my little Pupperoni. His name is Patriot. He is such a funny dog. He is currently seven months old and the bottom picture is the most current photo of him. BJ got Patriot in Texas and brought him to Ohio. He is such a cute, fun, and very animated dog. He can also be a double hand-full, because he has lots of energy!

I love it when he sleeps like this with his back feet pulled up to his chin.

The funniest story I have about Patriot is when he swallowed a sock! I had only been home from work about a half an hour when patriot got a hold of a sock. I went to get it from him, but he just crouched down like he wanted to play. So, I though, "I'll ignore him and he'll move on to something else to play with. Well, I looked down to check something on the computer and then I heard this... gulp, gulp, gulp... I looked up and the sock was gone! He had swallowed the sock! I ran upstairs and told my husband, and then called the vet. The reseptionist wasn't very happy, and was almost in a panic. Dogs swallowing socks is a very dangerous thing, and can be very expensive to fix if the dog ends up needing surgery. So, she told me to hold while she consulted the Dr. on what I should do. He told me to feed patriot Hydrogen Paroxide by the Table spoon until he threw the sock up, and not to delay. Well, we didn't have any Paroxide. So my very unhappy husband went to the store and got a baby dropper and paroxide. We fed him one Tblsp. Nothing. Then another... and a third... he started rolling around on the ground his belly must have been getting stirred up, but still no action... so then a fourth.... and FINALLY... out came the sock! And he's just fine.

May 30th was my last post. Shortly after that Bj returned home from helping out his family in TX, so i took off for a couple of days. On one of my days off Bj and I went to the Columbus Zoo. It was so much fun. We saw the new baby elephant. His mama kept walking him around and around the enclosure almost like she was parading him for everyone. Then he would run off, smell a thing or two, and then run back. He was sooo cute!

The next day, we went fishing. There is a very nice lake on base. But as nice as the lake is the only bite we got was from the sea weed.

The following week we picked up our puppy from the airport and my commander gave us tickets to the minor league baseball game in town and a free parking pass too! It rained a little bit, but we had a good time. His cousin was staying close by so we invited him to go with us too.

The next big thing was was our Wedding! It was such a memorable day. There were people there that I hadn't seen for 8+ years. Also, much of my family was able to come including my cousin stationed in Alaska, and my other cousin's wife and kids(they're stationed in Hawaii). My aunt from Idaho came too. It was such a wonderful time. After the wedding we went to Cancun for our honeymoon.

Thursday I joined Marie for our last Girl time Thursday (for a little while anyway). She will be bringing little Zane into the world soon and I will be having a wedding and going on my honey moon this new month as well. I have so enjoyed our times of talking and Tea. She has been so helpful to me in preparing my center pieces, helping my sister with the shower, and just being a great friend. I am so blessed to have her be a part of my life.

This past Thursday was great too! We talked to Elizabeth on Skype. It has been so long since i've seen her I really enjoyed talking to her and seeing what she was up to. (Elizabeth, your wedding cake turned out beautifully!) . We drank tea. Marie made me chicken and rice soup. It was so good and it really hit the spot after a loooong day of work. Lastly but not least Marie taught me how to crochet. My mother had shown me how to crochet the first string when i was a little girl, but i had never learned how to go back the other way and make something that was worth making. Marie is such a good teacher. She took her time and showed me about 4 different times how to do the same thing. How to hold your work, and she was so encouraging too. She also told me of a few video tutorials on the web that teach different stitching patterns. I took her advise and made my first granny square. I think the pattern has too many holes, but i am very satisfied at how quickly i was able to pick up this new trait under Marie's instruction. Thanks for being a GREAT teacher Marie! Here is peak at my first work. The pics aren't that great, but they'll do.

Bridal Shower

Saturday was my bridal shower! It was put on by my matron of honor, my sister Jayna. My mother and my darling friend Marie helped too. I had a wonderful time driving to the shower with Marie. We drove from Dayton up to the church my parents and sister attend. It was a 2 hour drive. Marie and stopped at a wonderful Gourmet shop! It has all kinds of wonderful tea china, gourmet tea, cookies, coffee, spreads, lotion, candles, wine, and lots of other things too. I found it a couple of weeks ago after an appointment with the wedding photographer and just had to take Marie and show her. We also stopped by President Harding's Memorial and a yard sale too!

The shower was a wonderful tea party! We played games and enjoyed watching my neices and nephew be silly. My nephew just 2 insisted he wear a hat too and was drinking out of a tea cup. It was so cute.

My friend Patty I was truly blessed by how excited she was to be at my party. My sister Jayna and i both babysat her children.

Next I am sitting between Miss Kitty and Karen. Miss Kitty is a wonderful lady from the church. She is so excited about everything and is such a blessing to be around. She makes you feel like the cherry on top of ice cream and she'll tell you you are too! Karen was like my second mother growing up. I baby sat her daughter full time while I was in Junior High school and When I turned 15 I started working in their family Pizza shop making Pizza's. Karen always knows how to make me feel special and stay a little longer than I had planned. I love being with her and talking to her. She has such a personality and is so funny.

My sisters and I are the beautiful ladies in Pink! My sister Kelly is the one with the glasses and lovely crochet top; and Jayna is the adorable garden girl who threw me the party and made the hats. What a wonderful time we all had.

Last but not least Marie and I are in the very bottom picture. She is 35 weeks pregnant. I am so excited for her and the little guy growing inside her. She is such a wonderful friend. I believe God placed us back together. We lived together a few years ago before I joined the AF. She then Got Married while I was in Germany, then she and her husband moved to Dayton in January and I received orders to come to Dayton in Mid February and arrived at the end of March.

I am so thankful for all the wonderful people God has placed in my life.

Ps. I miss and love you Elizabeth. I wished you could have been at the party and was missing you. Hope to see you soon!

Tuesday I took a beautiful walk. I walked about 3miles. I was out for 2 hours and didn't even realize it. It was such a blessing. I couldn't help but sing, How Great Thou Art, while walking and taking in the beautiful scenery God has given us. And all his wonderful little creatures as well. Here are some things I saw..... I didn't see the turtle on Tuesday, but I almost hit him with my car on Thursday!

Hello there!

I just wanted to share a Bible Verse that has given me comfort and strength over the last week. I like it so much that I copied it down for a few ladies at the office as well. Work has been a bit wearisome as we get closer and closer to this big inspection, but God always finds a way to remind us that we need not worry about the things of this life.

I couldn't get the video I wanted to post inside the blog, but if you click on the Ifel Tower it will take you to video I want to share. I love you both. I have also posted clocks at the very bottom of the page with all of our time zones.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are waisting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our LIGHT and MOMENTARY troubles are achieving for us an ETERNAL GLORY that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Current Events

I gave you a little- but long update on past happenings, but also wanted to fill you in on some current stuff.

My request to be moved to Ohio has been approved and I will be moving to Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH on the 28th of March. I will be living in the dormitories at first, but will buy a car right away so that I can travel back and forth to Mt. Gilead and help my parents take care of the house and let my mom have a break from taking care of my dad. This will also give me an opportunity to spend quality time with him in the few months we are led to believe he has left.

In early June BJ will bring a U-haul with all his stuff and we will begin looking for a house to rent. Are wedding date is June 20th 2009. We are working on getting the invitations made, but should have them by the end of this week.

I have updated my myspace to say engaged, but still do not have my ring as BJ has not had the opportunity to give it to me just yet. However he was able to meet my parents when I went home on emergency leave. He traveled straight from Africa when his trip was over. At the end of his visit with us he asked my dad for my hand in marriage, but he didn't have the ring with him because he had been in Africa.

May be he will ask me to marry him and give me the ring two days before the wedding. Lol.

It's ok, as long as I get to be with my love.

Wedding plans are coming along nicely we have booked most of the things we need except we still need a DJ and a florist.

We are having fun planning together and are expecting to have a great time at our Party(wedding).

July/August/September of '07

So I'm not sure really where to begin, but I'll try picking up where I think I left off. So, after arriving in Germany I was blessed to see three rainbows in three weeks letting me know that God was near and that he was remembering his promises to me. After being in Germany just one month I was able to take a tour of the Rhine River and see a fire works display that they put on there. I also took a train by myself to Trier-Germany's oldest city, but forgot my camera on both trips.

I had also already made a few friends and surprisingly enough had a few men that were trying to get my attention. I am a person who tries to be very cautious about who I give my time to, so I was very surprised at how quickly some people let you into their lives and will cut you out also very quickly if you don't follow or acknowledge the reasons they are hanging out with you( this is kind of in code, so if you don't understand just ask). One very nice fellow and one of the few I actually hung out with on a regular basis, was very sweet and animate that I was the girl of his dreams. Unfortunately I did not feel the same way, and mainly because we saw differently in the area of a relationship with Christ. I am not telling this story to laugh at his misfortune only to tell you a funny story. So, the two of us had went out a few times, but I kept a handle on denying any activity that might be seen as a date. One night after being out with friends we decided to return early, and he asked me if I would like to go up to the castle. I agreed because even though it was evening the Castle was usually pretty well lit. Well, not this time. It was pitch black. And we couldn't see a thing! So then he said, it's so dark up here can I hold your hand? OMGoodness! LOL! I was shocked, but it was quite a funny situation to me. I told him I would hold his elbow. ( this might not be a funny story to anyone else, but it is to me)( At this point I had not had a boyfriend for 7 years).

So the next morning after the castle incident I woke up and went to the train station and caught the train to Trier. It was a wonderful day. I was all alone to wander around and explore on my own. I had a great day. I journeyed back in the evening and accidentally missed my train so I arrived back to the base later than I had expected. While returning to the dorms I was greeted by a large crowd who begged me to go down town with them. I was tired, but I had promised the girl that helped me get settled onto the base that I would go out with her one time. So we did.

*There is a point to all this jabber, I promise.*

So, before we left I was introduced to a guy I had not met yet. I had met his friends the week before and had made them sandwiches after they helped me break into my room ( my key would not work). These friends of the new kid had told him all about me and told him that he was going to like me, but he did not believe them. They told him that I was a Christian and that I was very nice and a heart to help people, and of course that I was pretty too. He did not believe them, but the moment that we met and began talking I said to my self, I think I'm going to like this guy. He seems different. I picked out right away that he was a church kid and he let me know that I was right and that his parents are pastors. He encouraged me to stay focused and keep my faith while being stationed over seas.

We talked the whole time on our way down town about who we were and why we had joined the military. We found out we had both attended Bible school and joined the Military to serve our country and go to school. After we got down town we talked a little more and I started dancing with other people. After a few songs of one of his friends dancing with me, he pulled him aside to talk about who would get the girl. His friend bowed out gracefully, and he cut in to dance with me next. After a few dances we went outside and talked some more. That is when I found out we had the same exact dream of traveling the world and starting Orphanage Schools for children that would also bring them up in the ways of the Lord and give teach them life skills. After he told me his dream, he asked me mine, but I got all choked up and couldn't tell him, because I thought he would just think I was copying him. After a little while longer we went back to the base and spent the rest of the night talking about life and drinking tea until the sun came up. I hadn't had a boyfriend for 7 years, and was always very careful about keeping my bubble up, but was so excited about meeting this guy that I kissed him on the first night we met.

The next morning he saw me walking home from church with my groceries and picked me up. I was surprised, because I didn't expect to see him so soon. Also, because by that time I was freaking out that I had kissed him on my first time of meeting him. I hadn't liked somebody like so strongly in a very long time. I felt like I was jumping off the deep end, and I was trying to get my self calmed down.

So anyway, he picked me up and asked what I was doing later on. I told him going running and he asked to go, but I denied because I was going to run with the Elbow guy(Zach, it's kind of rude to call him elbow guy, he's a nice kid), I thought it might be a bit awkward to run together with the both of them. I told him that I had bought stuff to make pizza and he was welcome to join. So he agreed. I invited about 10 people to join our little pizza fest, but he was the only one who showed. I taught him how to make pizza and we talked and had a great time.

For three weeks after that we would run and stay up late talking and talking and talking! We enjoyed getting to know each other. For those three weeks even though i kissed him on the first day I wouldn't even let him hug me. I told him I thought we should be friends for 3months and then could decide if we wanted to date. 3 months got cut to three weeks. He stole my heart.

On the third week he took me out to a wonderful elegant restaurant here in Germany. The food was delicious and the decor was a European Country theme. After dinner we played on the kids playground outside. He stole another little piece of my heart when he did that. So, of course I couldn't resist kissing him again that night.

The next day we went to Heidleberg, and I was acting tough again no kisses and no hugs. We had a great day. Seeing the castle, drinking Starbucks(my favorite), and wandering around town. On our way home he asked why I was being so tough, and I told him it was because I wanted to be his girlfriend if I was going to keep on kissing him. He let me know that he was happy being single, but that he was also very happy while spending time with me and he asked me to be his girlfriend.

We've had our bumps, bruises, and breakups along the way, but we've never stopped talking, and talking, and talking since the first night we met. On July 14th 2007. His name is Benjamin Quintanilla Jr. - BJ. Except the one time I broke up with him because I got scared, and when I was running I saw him and we started running together, but then I freaked out and ran the other way. LOL!

I've come a long way since then.
